I’ve always had an interest in sports statistics. As a teenager, I was really into American football and would love getting the books at the end of each season to compare player performance statistics.

I’ve been interested in horse racing as a punter for over 30 years.

I guess for me, it began back when I used to go to the bookies on a Saturday for my grandad and put on his weekly 10p each way patent bet. I would put a bet on for myself at the same time and would hand over my pocket money to the local bookie (there were no id checks back then). I think back on those days at the wisdom my grandad passed on. He kept his stakes affordable and never chased a loss. He would say to me, “I’m giving the bookie this money. If I get anything back, it’s a bonus.” (I don’t think this statement ever sat well with me, truth be told). He enjoyed watching the races on Saturday afternoon, and if he won or lost, it never affected his day. I’ve think I’ve retained the even approach to gambling that my grandad possessed. It’s never been emotional for me.

Around 15 years ago, I started adopting a statistical data driven approach to selecting horse racing winners as the use of software came more into the public domain, and access to betting exchanges increased. I also began educating myself further by reading books on horse racing and incorporated some of the methods discussed by the likes of Andy Beyer, Nick Mordin, and Alan Potts into my selection process.

Today, my service will concentrate solely on providing tips on UK & Ireland flat turf and all weather racing, and I will look to provide an average of around one selection a day over the month. There will be some days when there are no selections offered. Write ups will be provided with an overview of my process behind each selection.

During my trial with Tipsters Empire since June 2023, I have generated an excellent amount of profit. This is an achievement I am really proud of and will be looking to build on. Most of my bets during this time have been advised at 0.5 point each way bets. This is a view to long-term, steady bank building and getting value out of each situation and, at the same time, mitigating any losses.
