What is a Canadian bet?A guide to different bet types
Have you ever thought to yourself ‘What is a Canadian bet?’ but not been certain how it works? Have a read of our explanation below.
A Canadian bet is one that consists of 5 selections, with 26 bets included for a Win bet or 52 for an Each Way bet. This bet is very similar to a Lucky 31 but, as you may notice, the Canadian does not include Singles on the selections, just permutations of more than one selection.
The bet includes doubles, trebles, four folds and a five fold.
The Canadian bet is also known as a Super Yankee, though these are often referred to separately.
To guarantee any returns on a Win selection, at least two out of five of the selections must win. Similarly, to guarantee any returns on an Each Way selection, at least two out of five of the selections must place.
As there are a number of small bets involved in the Canadian, a £1 Win Canadian would cost you £26, where as a £1 Each Way Canadian would cost you £52.
