Memorable Week at Royal Ascot
What a 5 days that was! Hands up who enjoyed that!? Every single one of us at HQ certainly did and the course was looking absolutely stunning, drenched in Sun and Pimms flowing. Top class and not only that but we managed to dig out some great winners, not least our star of the show Architect Tips.
The memorable performances came in abundance. Ribchester kicked things off on Day 1 with a gritty display to see off the few doubters there were pre race to steal the Queen Anne. Lady Aurelia was crowned the Queen of Ascot with a mesmeric display, akin to last years win, to take the King’s Stand Stakes in uber impressive style. We could go on and on and on and on…!
In terms of Tipsters Empire success stories there is only one place to look. The Royal Hunt Cup and ZHUI FENG’s dogged effort to win the Royal Hunt Cup at huge odds. Our 3rd biggest price to date and it had to be Architect Tips. He was suffering a lean run up until this but the 28/1 winner turned his week around! Funny old game!
Barney Roy, Highland Reel, Caravaggio and so many more made Royal Ascot 2017 a 5 days to remember on the track despite high’s and low’s for our tipsters. Here are some stats from our team before we hand over to Architect Tips to run us through his dream week at the office!
TOTAL POINTS PROFIT – 30 Point Profit between our 3 tipsters
BIGGEST WINNER – Zhui Feng 28/1 – Royal Hunt Cup
BIGGEST PLACE – Indian Dandy 33/1
TOTAL WINNERS – 14 Winners
TOTAL PLACES – 14 Places
We’ll hand over to Architect Tips to talk us through his dream week now!
Dream Week at Royal Ascot
Well what can I say, it has been a Royal Ascot to remember for yourself and everyone involved with the service. Some fabulous winning selections such as 28/1, 20/1, and 9/1 winners our highlights, along with a couple of other raised stake bets landing. We also managed two places in the same race at odds 33/1 and 14/1, to go with a further 10/1 and 16/1 places. We managed about 34 points profit over the 5 days.
Here’s a review from each day:
Day 1 –
We started the meeting with a bang, as we witnessed the mighty RIBCHESTER (evens) destroy a quality field in the Queen Anne stakes. Despite the horse drifting to his left late on, he had way too much class for the rest and the pacemaker did a grand job setting it up perfectly for RIBCHESTER to pounce late on and kick start the festival with a raised stake winner. Unfortunately, the day thinned out and that one was our only winner on the day but much better was yet to come!
Day 2 –
A little slow to start the day but it all changed when it came to the competitive Royal Hunt Cup. I selected ZHUI FENG (28/1), who I continued to keep the faith and I promised everyone he would land a big prize eventually. That proved to be correct, he made history by becoming the first horse to make all of the running as he led from pillar to post under a great ride from Martin Dwyer to win the race at massive odds. My second joint biggest winner as now I have pulled out two 28/1 winners this year for us all. I was so happy to see this horse win the race and it was one race I will never forget. It could not have happened at any better place other than Royal Ascot. Incredibly, we nearly had back-to-back winners at big odds due to the face RAIN GODDESS (10/1 advised) was well backed in the market in the final race and looked the winner 1f out as she hit the front, but was caught very close to home, but we settled for each-way profits.
We secured 11 points profit on the day.
Day 3 –
The week was about to get better, I selected CORONET (9/1) in the Ribblesdale stakes and she was given a wonderful ride by Olivier Peslier. Always kept handy and the the front-runner who went off like a rocket, set the race up beautifully for our filly and she finished the race so strongly, coming down the outside and getting up very close to home to win cosily.
The best thing about this one, is the fact she was my only raised stake bet of the day because I was very confident she would go close and CORONET won it for us. A great race to watch back and another memory was made, that won’t be forgotten. I advised two selections for the big field Britannia stakes and both returned profit. INDIAN DANDY (33/1) and TRICORN (14/1) both came home in 3rd and 4th which was very nice returns and both ran really good races to reach the frame in a tough race to solve. Lastly, FIRST NATION (14/1) stayed on well for 2nd in the final race of the day adding more profit for three week. A great day for us in succession.
We secured 15 points profit on the day.
Day 4 –
More profit was added to the bank as we had our third great day in a row. Firstly, CARAVAGGIO (evens) was my only raised stake bet of the day and he was a brilliant winner of the Commonwealth Cup. He reared in the gates and wasn’t exactly in a good position but his class proved to be out of the ordinary, once he got top gear she was eating up the ground and wore down two high-class horses late on to win going away. He proved himself to be a superstar and remain unbeaten. RARE RHYTHM (20/1) rounded off the day in great style, always kept handy and William Buick sent him to the front off the home bend and galloped the rivals into submission, the horse kept finding and finding for pressure and the pair on the last race in great style at huge odds. Our second winner of the week over 20/1. Another big days profit for us.
We secured 11 points profit on the day.
Day 5 –
A very tough final days racing and I selected just two selections. However, another great winner was bagged as we witnessed IDAHO (9/2) win the Hardwicke Stakes in great style. I had full confidence behind the horse going into the race because his form was above this level. He travelled beautifully and Seamie Heffernan was very confident in the saddle, the horse loomed up on the favourite 2f out, before kicking clear inside the final furlong to win very nicely. A tidy profit on the day was already guaranteed. LIMATO could have made the day even better and he looked the winner 1f out but just got run out of it close to home and had to settle for 3rd. Still another good days profit from limited selections and it built our bank up from a great week.
We managed nearly 2 points profit on the day.

We managed 4/5 profitable days for Royal Ascot and it was a week to remember simply brilliant to grab well over 31 points profit overall. A great bunch of winners and places and I am so pleased to everyone who was on board. It actually could have got better without a few near misses, but I am more than happy to walk away with massive profit from what is a tough Festival in general.
All the best
