With The Snout you get much more than just ‘a tip’ – we’ll let him explain below with some of his brilliant winners to date!

3.05 Ascot – Champion Stakes – FASCINATING ROCK

Jack Hobbs may well win here but at 11-8 it is not justifiable. FASCINATING ROCK is the one that seems to tick a lot of boxes for me. Last time out he was hugely impressive, winning a Group 3 by 6L when giving weight away and he comes here rated just 3lb inferior to Jack Hobbs. Dermot Weld is never short of winners on this day and he earmarked this race out as his target for this horse a while back. He has a prime draw, his perfect ground, and will certainly outrun the price tag of 20-1.

WON 20/1

CHELTENHAM ANTE POST SELECTION – RSA CHASE – BLAKLION

One who I really think is overpriced still is BLAKLION from Nigel Twiston-Davies’ yard. He is a horse that truly loves Cheltenham with a number of course wins and fantastic runs against top class horses, both over hurdles and fences.

His run on New Years Day at Cheltenham was the point that made me think he could have a real say in the RSA this year. He was ran over what could potentially be called an inadequate trip versus a real improver that has his ground, something he will most likely not have come March. BLAKLION stayed on that day to be beaten not far whereas a number of very talented horses were well held coming up the hill.

Taking this into account, I cannot believe the price of 25/1 is still available. He is almost a certainty to run in this race and there is no way he can be deemed a 25/1 shot on the day once punters cotton on to his form at the track and overall ability to stay up the hill.

5.30 Cheltenham ‚Äď Champion Bumper ‚Äď BALLYANDY¬†

Bumper horses that win under a penalty always go in my notebook and BALLYANDY is right at the top of that list. I saw him win over C&D in November and that form has gone on to be seriously franked. Potters Legend finished 2nd in that race who finished 2nd in the Imperial Cup on Saturday, Aurillac has since won, Waterlord was narrowly beaten next time out, even the horse who finished 6th went on to win three times following that race. It was a great performance to win there and although he was narrowly beaten at Ascot in a bumper, he went on to slam his rivals at Newbury when travelling like a dream and was driven out to win. The form looks solid as most of those horses at Newbury were coming into the race off the back of a good run. There doesn’t seem to be a whole lot coming over from Ireland in terms of bumper horses as Augusta Kate looks impressive but the vibes that she doesn’t work well very much puts me off as does fillies’ record in this race. BALLYANDY is absolutely rock solid and after having the winner last year in MOON RACER fits that bill to give us another bumper winner.

WON 8/1

3.00 Newbury – The Hennessy – SMAD PLACE

SMAD PLACE, Alan King said he ruined the horses chances last year with hindsight by not giving him a prep run, and this year he should strip much fitter following his 8L victory over Fingal Bay. What really impressed me about SMAD PLACE that day was the way he galloped on when they jumped the 2nd last together and his jumping ability saw him through. He really is a class jumper and that is one of the key components in a Hennessy winner. He seems to tick all the required boxes as he stays well, jumps brilliantly, and he is 5lb lower than when finishing 5th in the race last season. He, for me with all things being considered, should be at least joint favourite here.
